SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year, the Boone County Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association proudly awards scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing their education at West Virginia University or one of its affiliated institutions. These scholarships are made possible through the generous support of proud alumni and friends who believe in investing in the future of Boone County students.

Our application process is designed to ensure that students with academic promise, financial need, and a strong connection to our community have the opportunity to succeed. Awards are determined based on the criteria listed in the application—and students must reapply each year to remain eligible for continued support.

To apply, students must complete the official Scholarship Application, provide a high school transcript (grades 9–12), and submit a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR), which is generated after completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The deadline to apply is May 1. If you do not submit by the deadline, you may receive a lesser amount or no Boone County WVU Alumni & Friends scholarship. Transcripts and SARs should be submitted as soon as they become available.
Supporting documents may be uploaded with the application, or emailed directly to: meganwarnerwvu@gmail.com and/or wvuboonecountydenise@gmail.com

“Being a recipient of the Boone County Alumni and Friends scholarship played a big part in allowing me to live out my dream of attending WVU and helped me participate in a number of activities and organizations and have a fuller college experience,”
